Yot update

Remember back to my Yot section when I talked about the mystery Yot with the shiny helicopter? Well, looking through photos from another shipmate I found that they had a picture of the boat and I could make out the name.

I did a google search and the latest info I could find was from the newspaper The Virginia Pilot:

Big yacht with anonymous owner visits Norfolk

Berthed behind Harbour Place Condominiums and adjacent to the battleship Wisconsin, one of the larger yachts to grace Norfolk's waterfront is almost hidden in plain view.

The sleek, 221-foot White Cloud looks like a mini cruise ship, bristling with power boats and even a good-sized helicopter. The vessel, built by Feadship in 1983 for Leo Van Leeuwen of Lignac, France, was sold in 2003 to an undisclosed buyer for $17.5 million.

At least one Internet yachting site suggests the owner is Barry Diller, the TV programming guru who is married to fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg. Diller isn't shy about his ownership of the 305-foot Eos, the world's largest sailing yacht, so it's not clear why he wouldn't claim White Cloud.

The yacht arrived a week ago, said Waterside Marina's dock master, and it will be docked here for almost three more weeks.
